Fitting with policy

The Brighton & Hove Checklist assists in the delivery of the South East Plan (SEP), Brighton & Hove Local Plan and emerging Local Development Framework (LDF) by identifying a range of sustainability issues covered in these policy document and enabling users to assess to what extent a design proposal will deliver on each issue.

As far as possible, the Checklist has sought to integrate useful tools and measures to provide a “one stop shop”. However, detailing every issue would be extremely unwieldy and time consuming. As a result supporting information is available for each question via the ‘Getting started’ link.

The Checklist does not negate the need for other statutory appraisals (such as EIA) to be provided. However an EIA can be used to answer some questions within the Checklist.

This checklist has been replaced

All planning applications received from 13 July 2011 requiring the submission of a checklist at Validation stage must include a new version of the checklist.

Further information is available from the Brighton & Hove Sustainability Checklist website.

This checklist will remain online to allow existing users to reference their existing projects. New accounts and projects can no longer be created.
